GEORGE, South Africa: Friday 16 November 2012, Dr Martie Wege holds the foot of tiny Julimay September (born at 33 weeks) during the first South African Red Cross Air Mercy Service cardiology outreach programme to the Provincial Department of Health's George Regional Hospital. The aim of the outreach programme is to provide tertiary cardiology expertise at regional hospital level. Portable echocardiography is used to assist with patient assessment. The purpose of the outreach programme is to avoid patients and parents traveling a great distance to Cape Town's Red Cross war Memorial Children's Hospital for consultation with cardiology medical experts..Photo by Roger Sedres
